How Totalspan Warragul made this Farm Shed Easy

For many of us, buying a new farm shed can be a daunting process, but in this case study, the team at Totalspan Warragul show us how easy the process can be!

Working with Totalspan Warragul

First and foremost, Warragul’s customer, Bruce Winch, knew exactly what he wanted out of his new farm building for his property in Rokeby, Victoria. Essentially, he wanted a robust rural structure that would house his farm machinery and securely cover his horse float. He had his measurements down pat and he knew exactly where he wanted his shed located, he just needed a professional team to bring his vision to life.

Stuart Gowans and his team of shed specialists helped design a building that met those requirements.

Farm Shed Design

The result was a Series 4 Portal 20m(l) x 7.5m(w) x 3.6m (h). The farm shed featured impressive 5m x 3m(h) x 3.1m(w) remote controlled roller doors for easy access. Additionally, the roof was lined with Aircell Glareshield insulation to keep the majority of the heat out in Summer. And to finish it all off, the customer selected Pale Eucalypt colour to ensure the building blended in with the surrounds.

Warragul’s Building Engineering and Strength

This building is a Series 4 Portal which has a fully bolted frame.  The strength comes from the 100 x 50 purlins and girts bolted in between the portal frames.  The amount of strapping/bracing is another feature of this design that gives this building its premium strength.

Building Process

The customer needed to get his own planning permit, while Stuart organised the building permit including asset protection, site works, concrete and the erection of the building. The project was completed in just 10 weeks after the planning permit was approved.

“The build process went very smoothly thanks to our experienced sub-contractors and project manager.  Being a registered builder and licensed plumber ensures our buildings are constructed to the highest standards and are fully compliant,” explained Stuart.

Needless to say, Bruce was very happy with the end result and made a point of complimenting the builders on a job well done!
