What is my initial investment?
We recognise that each business and territory has different requirements and consequently the Initial Franchise Fee starts from $20,000. Your initial franchise fee covers: All operations and sales training, 15 days on-site mentoring with your Business Development Manager, use of Totalspan's intellectual property (including all branding, logos and trade marks), use of Totalspan's proprietary software (TRS), use of the Totalspan 1300 number, a dedicated page on the Totalspan website, use of Totalspan advertising materials, defined prime marketing area, attendance at the Totalspan Annual Conference & Regional Meetings (travel and accommodation costs excluded), operation manuals (marketing, sales, contracts, engineering and technical support, operations, product), access to an enormous range of engineered building designs, engineering plans, use of Totalspan's internal systems and tools, access to our design and head office teams, who can help you with any sticking points or questions you have.
Additional Grand Opening Inclusions: Advertising fund subsidy, show room design concepts, campaign elements, Sam Totalspan trailer positioned on-site for your first month, a supply of letter head, presentation folders, pens, post cards, business cards, product brochures, a sales banner, 2 office staff uniforms and 2 build staff uniforms to get you started.
Exclusions: The franchise fee excludes the cost of your display site, which will vary depending on your location and the site's size. Contact us for more information on this.
Are there ongoing costs?
In any business, there are ongoing costs involved with marketing and promotion. At Totalspan, we use the combined power of the group to run large marketing initiatives that smaller independent businesses would never have access to. This strengthens the Totalspan brand, giving you a strong competitive advantage, adding to the equity in your franchise and keeping you top of mind with customers.
Do I need experience owning my own business?
Not all our franchisees have owned their own business before, however a level of commercial savvy is necessary to run the day to day functions of your business. Similarly, having building or trade experience is advantageous, though not essential, as contractors can be hired to execute the install.

Is training provided?
Yes. We recognise that different people have different skills and experiences and therefore the overall training program will be personalised however you can expect to receive a one week's training at our Crestmead facility in Queensland followed by an in-depth training program to follow in the field. This training, combined with the material you'll receive in your Operation Manuals, will provide you with everything you need get off on the right foot in your new business.
Do you provide a display?
It is each franchisee's responsibility to acquire a display office that is appropriate for the territory and business model. This ensures you present professionally to your customers and positively promote the Totalspan brand. We can assist you with design suggestions and direction as to how other franchisees have successfully fitted out their displays.
Can I own more than one Totalspan franchise?
After a franchisee has shown they can successfully run a single territory, there is potential to expand your reach and take things to the next level by acquiring a second location.
Do I have to be a dedicated Totalspan franchise?
No, we have a number of mixed models. Leveraging off the existing structure and capabilities of a related and complimentary business can be very beneficial.
Do I need a Builders License?
No - It is our preference that you either hold the appropriate license or that you have the ability and commitment to obtain these licenses however it is not a prerequisite. You will need to demonstrate experience and knowledge of the building process and or high degree of technical aptitude.
Can I talk with a current Totalspan Franchisee?
Yes - in fact we encourage that you do. We are happy for you to speak with any member of our network however we may be able to help identify franchisees that are more relevant to your particular circumstances.
How long is the franchise agreement for?
The franchise term is for five years with a renewal period of a further five years.
