This vehicle storage shed built in Tallegalla started from an online enquiry submitted through the website. The customers vision at the time was a 26L x 8W x 4H gable shed, with the intention of accommodating five vehicles. The customer had a specific need to store their caravan.
The customer initially presented Totalspan Ipswich with their own design concept that was quoted from another shed company. However, the original quote provided from the other company exceeded the client's anticipated budget, necessitating a creative and cost-effective solution. Custom Design Solution: What are the dimensions and features of the shed?
The chosen design consisted of a main building measuring 21L x 7W x 2.7H, accompanied by a single bay secondary building measuring 4L x 7W x 4H. The decision-making process was extensive, with at least six design options being considered and reworked before arriving at the two-building configuration. The shed showcases a total of six roller doors, along with a glass sliding door situated in the first bay to be used as a studio.
To create the illusion of a unified structure, the two buildings were erected adjacent to each other and seamlessly connected using flashing. This clever design technique ensured that the buildings appeared as one cohesive unit, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal.
Situated atop a picturesque hill, the shed enjoys breath-taking views of the surrounding rural landscape. In fact, its placement was strategically chosen, as it was intended to be the first building constructed on the site in anticipation of the client's future residence. This prime location further enhances the shed's allure, offering a serene and idyllic setting for both practical storage and the enjoyment of the stunning natural scenery.
The studio located on the far-left side of the shed boasts glass sliding doors, allowing ample natural light to permeate the space. From inception to completion, the Totalspan Ipswich team took charge of the entire project, overseeing council approvals and coordinating the construction process. The client opted to pour their own concrete slab, adhering to Totalspan's engineering specifications.
Securing the initial council approvals posed a hurdle since the shed was to be erected on vacant land before the client's residence. Then unfavourable weather conditions, including weeks of continuous rain, impeded progress. The team's expertise and experience were instrumental in navigating these obstacles. They diligently worked through the council approval process, ensuring compliance with all regulations and requirements.
