Tell us about the Design Aspects of the Building:
The building measured 30m x 20m x 5.4m with 20m x 6m awning. It was designed as a warehouse for a local business. We added a mezzanine floor that was constructed to the front two bays for storage above the office and showroom.
What makes this building so strong?
This building is a Totalspan custom designed and Engineered, which included boxed C-Sections with swaged components - for additional strength.
Tell us about the build process? How did your team enjoy erecting this building?
Due to the size of the building and weight of some individual components (stitched sections), it created a challenge for the build team. However, as the team had previous experience with other projects of similar size in the past, the build process went smoothly and was completed in relatively quick turnaround time.
What is your favourite feature of this building?
The internal fit out is amazing and utilises every inch of the space inside the building.
Additionally, the section sizes work neatly together and showcase the strength of the overall design.
Custom brackets and stitched sections bring a real presence of substance. The double story and mezzanine floor enabling ultra-flexibility and allows the customer to incorporate a showroom, office and warehouse under one roof.
The clear open span allows maximum manoeuvrability and use of the floor area.
What was the solution offered to the customer with this building?
We formed a really strong partnership with our customer, Matt Jeffries. We listened to his needs and outlined his project requirements. We then worked collaboratively to design a building that meet those needs and requirements. Additionally, we had to assess the local and state government’s rules and regulations and worked closely with Matt’s draftsman to ensure we complied and achieved the desired outcome.
What were you most proud of with this building?
The fact that the customer was so happy with the final product, and that the design layout fulfilled all of his requirements.
